Levi and Annie Nilsson, owners and proprietors of Apogee Studios, have been providing exceptional portrait and production services since 1990. Staying current and busy through the digital revolution has been a rewarding challenge. Apogee Studios has been involved in the development of countless musicians and performance organizations, production of hundreds of television and web commercials and informational videos, syndicated television series, multi million dollar Hollywood films, and MUCH more.

Levi has experienced photography and production workflows from the wet dark room days of the late 80's and early 90's, through the initial digital still camera development of the mid and late 90's (when a HIGH RESOLUTION camera took 1MP images and cost about $20,000) and into the modern age of relatively low cost and truly high quality image capturing devices we use today. This breadth of experience has allowed him to learn a wide variety of techniques to accomplish any look you can conceive of. Truly a Craftsman behind the lens, Levi engages his clients in the process. You are not just a subject at Apogee Studios, you are part of the creative process. A finished, informative and effective piece of art is our end goal. We offer both in studio and on location production services using both time proven and most recent technologies available.  We also have a full music, video and recording studio to capture your best performance possible.

Private Music lessons with Annie are designed to expand a student’s current skills. She offers lessons in Voice, Guitar, Ukelele, Flute, Recorder, beginning Piano, and General Music/Appreciation/Music Theory. Annie likes to balance technique and learning to read musical notation with fun, humor, and personal expression.  She enjoys helping students explore new things or delve deeply into subjects that spark their enthusiastic interest. That means you will need to be an active music maker, be willing to try new things, and be honest along the way about what you enjoy and what you don’t, and what life experiences you would like to prepare for (Auditions? Plays? Preparing to join performing ensembles? Competitions? Expanding your skills?) so we can meet your needs. You and your family will be involved in choosing your learning goals with her. 

Annie has a BA in Music with an emphasis in Voice, an MS in Education and Informational Technology, 3 Levels of Orff Certification (the highest offered nationally), is certified nationally with both levels of the Teaching Guitar Workshop, and she taught for the Anchorage School District for 26 years in the areas of General Music, Choir, Guitar, Drama, and Orff Ensemble. She knows there are many opportunities to make music in our community, and is honored to help you pursue the skills you need to feel confident about making music.
